Competitive-Analysis/ Design Opportunities

I researched on competitor companies' websites to understand their UX patterns.

While all these companies had lot of information in their websites, very few of them had clean and minimal User Interfaces. This was a design opportunity for us.

  • Users (Marketing-team) agree, the modernized Hydratight website landing page looks slim and contemporary. It's minimal without content-clutter.

  • With large visuals and breathing space, the new website received positive feedback from internal stakeholders.

My Role

Hydratight’s website had many internal pages. To begin with, it was decided to revamp the Landing page. Inner pages will be worked upon at a later stage.

Till the end of my tenure, my designs were up and running in live website (www.hydratight.com). The inner pages are yet to be updated.

UI Design

Multiple sketches were created to finalize the layout.
I aimed at retaining critical content of the company. Design approach was to keep it minimal and offer a lot of breathing space.

High Fidelity Wireframes

Impact

Hydratight manufactures Engineering tools and equipments. Its customer-facing website was outdated. While Management wanted to update its content, Design team suggested a modernized UI as well for it.

Creative Solution

Hydratight website was built in Wordpress. It resembled a Blog and its design lacked the slickness of a modern website. Lots of textual information made it word-heavy, and Users were finding it difficult to get relevant information with ease.

I worked with our Global Art Director for designing High Fidelity wireframes. Decisions were based on previously gathered data on existing UI and business needs.

My point of contact was the Marketing Team and Art Director. They provided insights for Design decisions. Regular calls with the team provided additional information about the ongoing work.

As Secondary research for design, I read technical documentations to understand what possible combination of content and images could be
used in the modernized website.

Visual assets documentation & new assets creation

I created library of hundreds of images and other documents used in the existing website. These were to be plugged into the modernized version as well.

  • Image/Visual-asset/Icon catalogues of more than 400 elements

  • Vector illustrations and Image creations

  • Design repository management
